P. Calender (one for the girls)

This is the second of my comparison reviews. The app. of this type I already use is i.P Free.

What is the app? P. Calender is an app which tracks a woman's periods and predicts when their next periods will be based on how long since the last period(s).

Platform: I-pod Touch/i-phone/i-pad

Review.

Well i.P Free is one of my most useful current apps but there are little things I don't like about it which I was hoping would be fixed by P. Calender. When I first looked at the app I thought I might actually be in luck. One of the things I don't like about I.p Free is that you have to either mark off every day of your period or let the app. guess how long your period lasts. It's a bit of a bother. Looking at P. Calender I thought they had solved this problem by putting one button to switch on your period at the begginning and to switch if off at the end. Unfortunately it didn't seem to work as I had expected. When I first marked my period it didn't save and I had to mark it again, then it seemed to switch itself off but without there being a way for me to manually extend it, all I could do was start a new period the next day.

The app also seems to try and fool you into thinking it has more features than it actually does, as when you try to use them it tells you that you need to have the full paid version. Having said that some of those features do look like they could be good.

One good thing though is that you seem to be able to make as many notes as you want with P. Calender with lots of symptoms, moods etc. and a possibility to add written notes

Bubble Breaker Deluxe

This review is the first of my similar to reviews. The game I am comparing to is Bubble Xplode

What's the App: A game. The simple game of Bubble (you group colours together and pop them). This version is Bubble Breaker Deluxe

Company/maker: Li Quinyong

What I liked:
  •  You could see what any group of bubbles would score before you clicked it.
  • The sparkly stars when you scored well. Maybe it makes me a child but it felt like an achievement!
What I didn't like:

  • Having to click twice to get all bubbles to shift. Was just a bit of a bother but I can't see how else you could let players know what they would score before it's too late.
  • The images on the page to 'buy' the app suggested you could change the appearance of the bubbles, but I couldn't find out how to.
  • It's pretty basic, nothing special that makes it stand out from the crowd
In Comparrison:

Well I must admit I prefer my original version of this. Straight off the game looks slicker and more professional. The game play itself it smoother too, although the reason for a less slick game play is something I prefer about Bubble Breaker Deluxe (that you can consider different options and see possible scores before you make a decision) and makes it more of a logical game than a think on your feet one. I am also addicted to the real-time play included as an option in Bubble Xplode and there's nothing in Bubble Breaker Deluxe which stands out this way.

The starting line

Hi everybody welcome to my blog. I am all excited about this new project.
